The Split shipping option is used when products in an order are fulfilled from different locations or belong to separate shipping profiles.
Shopify’s Split Shipping feature allows customers to see individual shipping costs and delivery options for each product in their cart.
Example: If Product A has a $5 charge for Next Day Delivery and Product B has a $10 charge for Express Delivery, both options will appear separately at checkout. When the customer places the order, the combined total ($15) will be charged.
This provides full transparency and allows you to set product-specific delivery methods and rates.
How to Enable Split Shipping
- Go to your Shopify Admin > Settings > Shipping and delivery.

- Scroll down to the Create custom profile section.
- Click the “split shipping” option.
- Enable the toggle to activate Split shipping.
