If your shipping charges vary by product type or category, you can use product-based conditions to configure rates in ShipX.
These conditions allow you to define rules based on identifiers such as Product Tag, SKU, Product Name, or Barcode, all of which can be managed from your Shopify Products section.
Product Identifiers
Here are the different types of product identifiers:
1. Product Name
The product name is simply the name assigned to your product when you create it in Shopify.

You can use product names as a condition to apply specific shipping rules for certain products.
2. Product Tag
A product tag is a label used to categorize and organize products in Shopify.
For example, if you sell chairs and sofas, you can tag all chairs with chair and all sofas with sofa to group them easily.

To add a product tag:
- Go to Shopify Admin > Products.
- Select a product and scroll to the Tags field.
- Enter the desired tag (e.g., chair).
- The tag will automatically apply to all variants of that product.
3. SKU (Stock Keeping Unit)
An SKU is a unique identifier assigned to each product or variant.
- Parent products cannot have an SKU — only their variants can.
- If shipping rates differ across variants, SKU-based rules can be used.

To add an SKU:
- Go to Shopify Admin > Products.
- Select the product and click the variant.
- Scroll to the SKU field and enter the value.
4. Barcode
A barcode is another unique product identifier, similar to an SKU.
Like SKUs, barcodes are added only to variants, not to parent products.

To add a barcode:
- Go to Shopify Admin > Products.
- Select the product and click the variant.
- Scroll to the Barcode field and enter the barcode number.
Note: Apart from these product identifier, inline product properties and product metafields are available as additional add-ons.
