When customers add products from multiple categories (e.g., both chair and sofa) to the cart, you can control how shipping is calculated using the Combine shipping rates feature.
This allows you to decide whether to display the sum, highest, lowest, or average of applicable rates.
Step 1: Assign shipping tags to Scenarios
- Open the Chair scenario.
- Click on the shipping zone where you’ve set the rates and scroll down to the bottom.
- Enter a shipping tag name, e.g., rateforchair.
- Repeat for the Sofa scenario with the shipping tag rateforsofa.
Step 2: Create a Combined shipping rate
- Go to Rates > Combine shipping rate > View.
- Give the combined rate a name.
- Under Rate calculation, select Any tag should have value.
- Choose the Combined rate type (e.g., Show the Highest Rate).
- In Shipping rate tags to combine, enter: rateforchair, rateforsofa
