Shopify's Market-driven Shipping lets you manage shipping options for individual Shopify Markets.
If your store uses Market-driven Shipping, ShipX must be added as a rate provider to each Shopify Market where you want ShipX shipping rates to be available at checkout.

Important: Installing ShipX does not automatically enable ShipX as a rate provider for every Shopify Market.
Step 1: Open Markets Setup in ShipX
Open ShipX from your Shopify Admin.
You'll see the Market-driven Shipping banner on the Dashboard, Rates, and History pages. The banner shows how many Markets are ready and how many still require setup.
Click Add ShipX to Markets.

Step 2: Select a Shopify Market
You'll see your Shopify Markets organized into three tabs:
- All – All Shopify Markets
- Needs setup – Markets where ShipX still needs to be configured
- Ready – Markets where ShipX is already enabled as a rate provider
Each Market displays its current status:
Status | Meaning |
Enabled | ShipX is enabled as a rate provider for the Market |
Shipping off | Shipping is currently turned off for the Market |
Not set | Shipping has not yet been configured for the Market |
Not Enabled | Shipping is configured, but ShipX has not been enabled as a rate provider |
Find the Market you want to configure and click Add/Manage.

Step 3: Open Shipping Settings
Shopify will open the selected Market.
Select Shipping to view the Market's shipping configuration, then click Add shipping option.

Step 4: Add ShipX as a Rate Provider
Configure the shipping option as follows:
- Select Carrier or app calculated as the rate type.
- Select ShipX as the carrier or app.
- Set the shipping option to Active.
- Select the required products and fulfillment locations.
- Click Done, then Save.

Recommended: When adding ShipX as a rate provider in Shopify, we recommend selecting all products and all locations for the relevant shipping configuration.
Step 5: Verify the Setup
After saving, return to ShipX.
The configured Market should now appear under Ready with the status Enabled.
ShipX can now receive shipping-rate requests from Shopify for this Market and return applicable rates at checkout.

Markets vs Regions
- Shopify Markets and ShipX Regions serve different purposes.
- Shopify Markets determine where ShipX is enabled as a shipping rate provider.
- ShipX Regions determine which ShipX shipping rates apply based on the customer's delivery destination. To create the regions, read this guide.
- For a ShipX rate to appear at checkout, ShipX must be enabled for the applicable Shopify Market, and the customer's destination must match a ShipX Region with an applicable shipping rate.
Troubleshooting
ShipX is not showing as a rate provider
If ShipX doesn't appear when you select Carrier or app calculated:
- Make sure the ShipX app is installed on your Shopify store.
- Make sure you're configuring the correct Shopify Market.
- Refresh the ShipX and try again if you abe to see ShipX as your carrier rates app
- If ShipX still doesn't appear, contact support.
The Market is Ready, but no ShipX rate appears
Open ShipX → History and check whether ShipX received a rate request for the checkout.
- If a rate request appears in History: Shopify is successfully sending the request to ShipX. Check your ShipX Region, shipping rates, and configured conditions such as ZIP/postal code, product, weight, quantity, tags, SKU, or metafields.
- If no rate request appears in History: Check the Shopify Market configuration and make sure ShipX is enabled as a rate provider. Also verify that the applicable products and fulfillment locations are included.
Shopify also recommends testing shipping options after setup to verify that the expected choices appear at checkout.
Tip: The ShipX History page is the quickest way to determine whether Shopify is sending the rate request to ShipX.
