Date & Time-Based Delivery Customization

Advanced Date & Time-Based Delivery Customization allows you to customize Shopify's native shipping methods based on the current date and time when a customer places an order. These conditions enable you to create flexible delivery rules for business hours, holidays, seasonal promotions, and carrier operating schedules.

Using these conditions, you can configure rules to show, hide, rename, or reorder shipping methods during checkout based on the day, date, or time of the order.

The following Date & Time-based conditions are available:

  • Day of the Week
  • Date
  • Time

Day of the Week

The Day of the Week condition allows you to customize delivery methods based on the day on which the customer places an order.

This condition is useful for enabling or restricting shipping methods according to your business operating days or carrier availability.

Example

  • Monday to Friday → Display Express Delivery.
  • Saturday and Sunday → Display Weekend Delivery only.

This helps ensure that customers are presented with delivery methods that align with your business schedule and available carrier services.

Date

The Date condition allows you to customize delivery methods based on a specific date or a range of dates.

This condition is ideal for managing delivery methods during holidays, seasonal sales, promotional campaigns, maintenance periods, or other special business events.

Example

  • December 20 – December 31 → Hide Express Delivery.
  • January 1 → Display Standard Delivery only.

This enables you to automatically adjust available delivery methods for specific dates or date ranges without requiring manual intervention.

Time

The Time condition allows you to customize delivery methods based on the time at which the customer places an order.

This condition is commonly used to configure delivery options based on business hours, same-day delivery cut-off times, or carrier collection schedules.

Note: The configured time is evaluated using your Shopify store's default time zone.

Example

  • Orders placed before 2:00 PM → Display Same-Day Delivery.
  • Orders placed after 2:00 PM → Hide Same-Day Delivery and display Next-Day Delivery.

This helps ensure that customers are shown delivery methods that accurately reflect your business operating hours and carrier cut-off times, providing a more reliable checkout experience.
