This article explains how to set up customer profiles in Shopify and configure shipping rates in ShipX based on customer tags.
Step1: How to create customer profiles in Shopify
- In your Shopify Admin, go to Customers from the left-hand menu.
- Click “Add customer” and fill in all relevant details.

- Use Tags to categorize customers (e.g., wholesale, VIP).
- These tags can later be used in ShipX to apply customer-specific shipping rates.

- If a customer profile already exists, simply open it and add the relevant tag.
Step 2: How to set rates based on customer tags
- Go to “Customers” in Shopify and open the customer profile you want to assign a unique rate.
- Add a tag (e.g., wholesale) and click the “Save” button.

- In ShipX, go to Rates > Click View on Scenarios.

- Create scenario, and give your scenario a name (e.g., Wholesale Customers).

- Set the condition: Customer > Tag > Equals to > Wholesale. Click the “Add” button.

- Navigate to the “Shipping zone” in the shipping rates section.
- Click “Add shipping rate” next to the zone.
- Enter a name for the shipping and select criteria as Cart > Quantity.

- Click “Add tiered rate” to add shipping rate.
- Configure the rate (e.g., $50 for any cart quantity) and click the “Add” button.

- Save the scenario.
Now, when this customer places an order, the shipping rate will automatically be applied according to the scenario.
