In ShipX, Cart-based conditions help you control how shipping rates are applied based on what’s in the customer’s cart. You can set rules that depend on the order value, quantity of items, or total weight, allowing you to fine-tune your shipping logic for different scenarios.
These conditions ensure that only the relevant shipping rates are displayed at checkout, giving you flexibility and control over your store’s shipping strategy.
Cart-based conditions (Scenarios)
These cart parameters can be used in the scenario conditions.
1. Cart Total
The Cart Total condition lets you set shipping rates based on the total value of the customer’s order.
Example:
- Orders over $50 receive free shipping.
- Orders under $50 are charged $5.
This helps you offer promotional shipping or create order value thresholds to encourage larger purchases.
2. Cart Quantity
The Cart Quantity condition allows you to adjust shipping rates based on how many items are in the cart.
Example:
- 1–3 items → $4
- 4–6 items → $7
- More than 6 items → $10
This helps you manage shipping costs for different order sizes more effectively.
3. Cart Weight
The Cart Weight condition lets you define shipping rates according to the total weight of the order.
Example:
- 0–2 kg → $5
- 2–5 kg → $8
- Over 5 kg → $12
This method is ideal for weight-based or logistics-driven pricing, where heavier orders have higher shipping costs.
4. Distance
Use the Distance condition to charge shipping rates based on how far the customer’s delivery address is from your fulfillment location (shipping origin).
Example:

Configure shipping scenarios based on zip codes or postcodes, enabling precise control over shipping rates for specific geographical areas.
Example:
- Zip codes 10001–10005 → $8
- Zip code 10006 → Free shipping
6. Dimensions
With the Dimensions condition, you can charge shipping rates based on the size of the product, such as length, width, or height.
Example:
- Length >10cm, Width >20 cm, Height >30 cm: $10
- Length <10 cm, Width <20 cm, Height <30 cm: $25
7. Volume
Use the Volume condition to charge shipping rates based on the volume of the cart. Please ensure product dimensions are synced within the ShipX app.
Example:
- Volume < 1000cm³: $10
- Volume > 1000cm³ : $20
8. Volumetric weight
Use the Volumetric weight condition to charge shipping rate based on volumetric weight. Please ensure product dimensions are synced within the ShipX app.

Volumetric weight < 10 kg: $10
