The Carrier Pickup Points feature in the ShipX app allows merchants to offer customers the option to collect their orders from designated carrier pickup locations instead of receiving doorstep delivery. This feature is available as an Add-on under the Premium and Enterprise plans.
Once enabled, the ShipX app can display shipping rates for doorstep delivery, carrier pickup points, or both options at checkout, allowing customers to choose their preferred delivery method.
Note:
Fedex location API must be included in the Fedex project (in FedEx portal) to get pickup points rates.
UPS location API must be included in the UPS project (in UPS portal) to get pickup points rates.
How to activate the add-on
1. Go to Help > Subscriptions.
2. Click Upgrade your plan.
3. Upgrade to the Premium or Enterprise plan if you haven't already.
4. Click Activate Add-on on Carrier pickup point rates.
5. Complete the payment process.
How to setup carrier pickup point rates
1. On the ShipX app, go to Rates → Scenarios.
2. Click “Create scenario” and provide a scenario name for internal reference.
3. Configure the Scenario conditions as per your requirements.
4. Select the preferred zones where this scenario should apply.
5. Enter the shipping rate name for your reference.
6. Choose the Live carrier service.
7. Under the Rate type, select one of the available options:
- Doorstep Shipping Rates: Under this option, shipping rates are calculated for standard doorstep delivery.
- The carrier calculates the shipping rate based on the customer's delivery address.
- Customers will receive their orders directly at their specified shipping address.
- Only doorstep delivery rates will be displayed at checkout.
- Carrier Pickup Points Rates: When this option is selected, the shipping rates will be calculated based on available carrier pickup points.
- Customers will be able to select a nearby pickup location provided by the carrier.
- The order will be delivered to the selected pickup point instead of the customer’s home address.
- Customers can visit the chosen pickup point and collect their package directly.
- You can specify the number of pickup locations to display to the customer.
- A maximum of 5 pickup points can be shown at checkout.
- The pickup point details will appear within the shipping rate name at the checkout page.
- Both Doorstep and Carrier Pickup Points Rates: This option allows you to offer both delivery methods to customers.
- The system will calculate shipping rates for:
- Doorstep Delivery
- Carrier Pickup Points
- Based on the number of pickup locations configured, multiple pickup point rates will be generated.
- Both home delivery and pickup point options will be displayed at checkout.
- Customers can choose their preferred delivery method before completing the order.
